COLUMBUS – A man and woman are being sought charges in connection with the death of a missing man whose body was found in their East Side basement Sunday.

Danyell Florida, 37, and Kalene Barlett, 22, have been charged with one count each of abuse of a corpse after the body of Dametrious Edwards was found in the basement of the house at 716 S. Champion Avenue listed as their residence, said Sgt. Dave Sicilian of the Columbus Police Homicide Unit.
Police said Edwards had been reported missing on Sept. 7.
Initially, Sicilian says, it appeared that had been shot but coroner’s office personnel determined that he suffered trauma but the cause of death was still undetermined late Monday.
