COLUMBUS – Police are looking for a 23-year-old woman and her boyfriend in connection with the death of the woman’s 8-month-old son.
UPDATE 1/16/23 6:55 a.m.: The suspects in this case were arrested in New Straitsville.
An autopsy determined that the baby found not breathing on Monday in a North Linden home had died as a result of blunt force trauma, according to detectives with the Columbus police Homicide Unit.
The boy’s mother, Savanna Dawson, and her 24-year-old live-in boyfriend, Kyrios March, have both been charged with murder. Police say they remained at large early Thursday and authorities believe they may have fled the Columbus area. March has ties to Michigan, detectives said.
Officers dispatched to the home at 2460 Hiawatha Street at approximately 6:27 p.m. found the baby, who was subsequently taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital where he died at 6:51 p.m., police said.
The initial investigation was conducted by the Franklin County Coroner’s office, where an autopsy was completed on Wednesday.
Anyone with information regarding the incident or the whereabouts of the suspects is asked to call the Columbus police Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477).
