COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Crew defeated the Montreal Impact 2-0 at Crew Stadium on Saturday to stay above the red line as the team

The win moved Columbus (11-9-10, 43 points) into fourth place in the MLS Eastern Conference, still in contention for a position in the playoffs with four regular-season matches remaining.

Ethan Finlay notched a second-minute strike and Federico Higuain’s 58th-minute penalty-kick goal provided insurance for the Crew.

The win was the fifth straight at home for Columbus. The sellout crowd of 20,318 was the fifth of the season.

The Crew next goes on the road for three consecutive matches, beginning with one against the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium on Saturday (7:30 p.m./Time Warner Cable SportsChannel).
