COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Crew is set to host the first leg of the MLS Eastern Conference semifinals, a two-match series with the New England Revolution beginning Saturday.
Columbus earned the No. 3 seed and a knockout-round bye with a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Union on Sunday.
Time Warner Cable SportsChannel will broadcast the match regionally at 4:00 p.m. and the match is set to air nationally on the Univision Deportes Network.
Bernardo Anor scored Sunday’s game-winner in the 90th minute, allowing the Crew (14-10-10) to advance directly to the conference semifinals. Columbus closed out the regular season on a 6-0-0 tear at home.
Jairo Arrieta opened the scoring for the Crew with a breakaway goal in the 13th minute. Zach Pfeffer tied the game for the Union (10-12-12) in the 85th minute with his first career MLS goal. Anor was in the right position from one yard out to finish Tony Tchani’s deflected shot for the game-winner.
Tickets for Saturday’s match are now on sale. Tickets for a potential Eastern Conference Final match in Columbus – should the Crew advance – go on sale to the general public Oct. 27 at 5:00 p.m. A special presale for Crew season ticket holders began at 9:00 a.m. Monday.
