COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kei Kamara scored two goals for Columbus as the Crew SC beat the Seattle Sounders 3-2 Saturday night at MAPFRE Stadium.
It was the second time this season the top scorer in MLS has notched two goals in one match.
His goal in the 58th minute, following one by Frederico Higuain, gave the Black & Gold the insurance they needed.
Clint Dempsey scored the Sounders’ second goal in the 78th minute, a goal that was loudly protested by Crew players and fans who though the officials missed an offside call. During the dispute, a scuffle nearly broke out at midfield between Kamara and Gonzalo Pineda, who each received a yellow card.
Crew SC travels to San Jose to meet the Earthquakes at Avaya Stadium Saturday, May 16 (10:30 p.m./Time Warner Cable SportsChannel).
