Crew SC moves on to knockout round

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Gyasi Zardes and Lucas Zelarayan scored for the Columbus Crew SC in a 2-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls to clinch a spot in the knockout round of the MLS is Back tournament.

Zardes found the opener for Columbus in the 22nd minute to give the Crew the first-half lead, then Zelarayan lashed a perfectly placed first-time strike past New York keeper David Jensen.

With a pair of wins to open the World Cup-style tournament, the Crew have all but secured the top spot in their group with a final match against Atlanta on Tuesday.
