Devonere Simmonds (right), 18, was sentenced Monday to life in prison with no chance of parole in the slaying of 34-year-old convenience store clerk Imran Ashgar on July 24, 2013. He was sentenced to 45 more years for other crimes that occurred during the spree.

Simmonds’ accomplice, 19-year-old Nathaniel Brunner, was sentenced to 78 years to life for the same crimes.

According to the indictment, the spree began with the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man and then the slaying of the clerk three days later. The teens also carjacked and shot a man at a truck stop.

Both were convicted of aggravated murder and other charges Friday.
