COLUMBUS – The Iowa Cubs banged out 12 hits, including three home runs, on the way to handing the Clippers a 9-4 loss at Huntington Park Friday night.
Sergio Alcantara went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and an RBI double off Heath Fillmyer (1-3) that broke a 2-2 tie in the fourth inning.
Scott Effross (3-2) got the win in relief for the Cubs despite surrendering a two-run home run to Jordan Luplow in the fifth inning.
