Cubs 9, Clippers 6

COLUMBUS – The Iowa Cubs snuffed out a Clippers comeback with four runs in the ninth inning to beat Columbus 9-6 Friday night at Huntington Park.

Brayan Rocchio’s grand slam in the seventh inning put Columbus in front 6-5 but the Cubs tied the score with two outs in the ninth and John Hicks drove in the winning run with a single to center field off Ian Hamilton (2-4).

Ben Leeper retired the side in the bottom of the inning to preserve the win for Brendon Little (4-3) and earn his seventh save of the season.
