Deal to end Reynoldsburg teachers strike

REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio (AP) – Federal mediators say a tentative agreement has been reached in the labor dispute between Reynoldsburg teachers and the school district.

UPDATE: Reynoldsburg City Schools Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday to vote on tentative contract agreement ratified by striking teachers.

Teachers in the district of about 7,000 students have been on strike since Sept. 19. The sticky issues have included class sizes and merit-based raises.

The U.S. Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, in a news release Thursday, would not provide details on the agreement but said the deal must be approved by both the teachers union and the district.
