Death of man in garage treated as homicide

COLUMBUS – Police are treating the shooting death of a man found inside a Southeast Side garage Monday evening as a homicide.

At approximately 6:01 p.m., Columbus police received a call and were requested to respond to an address in the 6200 block of Lowridge Drive, homicide detectives said.

When they arrived they found Jennot Mendy inside a garage, police said. Mendy, 32, was taken to the Grant Medical Center Emergency Room in critical condition. He died at 7:53 p.m.

Police have no suspects or motive for the shooting.

This is the 40th homicide of 2017 in Columbus.
