COLUMBUS – Police have determined that a partially decomposed body found in an abandoned East Side home Saturday morning was that of a homicide victim but had not released any information on the man’s identity early Tuesday.
UPDATE: The victim was identified as 54-year-old Willie Clyde Worthy Jr.
Police officers and medics dispatched to an abandoned home at 980 E. Fulton Street at 10:30 a.m. on a report of a decomposing body inside of the location found a black man, possibly in his 50’s, who was an apparent victim of a homicide, Sgt. Dave Sicilian of the Homicide Unit said.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and police are still trying to confirm his identity, Sicilian said.
