COLUMBUS, Ohio – They are random, with no apparent pattern, and authorities have few clues to help them track down a ring of propane thieves.
A rash of propane and gasoline thefts began in late June and have continued, mostly in the Liberty Township area, Delaware County Sheriff Russell Martin said.
The thefts are sporadic and no pattern has emerged. Martin says the crimes range from theft of propane tanks to pouring gasoline over the tanks in an attempt to ignite them.
