The Democratic National Committee Thursday morning selected Philadelphia today to host the party’s nominating convention, according to a report in the Columbus Dispatch.

Philadelphia, Brooklyn and Columbus were the finalists after a months-long national search for a convention site that involved repeated visits to all three cities and intense lobbying.

Columbus had also bid for the 2016 Republican National Convention before being eliminated early last year in favor of Cleveland.
