Domestic incident could lead to punishment

BEREA (AP) – A roadside argument between Johnny Manziel and his girlfriend could lead to punishment from the NFL.

Police have released a dash-cam video in which Colleen Crowley can be heard telling police that the Browns backup quarterback was physical with her, saying “he hit me a couple times.”

The former Heisman Trophy winner was questioned by Avon police last week after witnesses said he passed cars on the shoulder while driving at a high speed on I-90 and he later admitted drinking alcohol earlier in the day.

Manziel was not charged and he was active as Cleveland’s backup Sunday during a 26-23 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos.

The Browns said they have spoken to Manziel about the incident. Manziel spent 70 days in a rehab facility during the offseason.

Browns linebacker Karlos Dansby said Manziel has not become a distraction to the team and he sympathizes with him living in the spotlight, saying he “is a prisoner of his own success.”
