FINDLAY (AP) — A driver who authorities say struggled with a state trooper during a traffic stop, causing the trooper to be shot and seriously injured with his own gun, has been captured.
Robert Tramaine Hathorn of Michigan was found Thursday afternoon in Findlay after a resident spotted him.

The shooting had occurred shortly after 11:00 p.m. Wednesday on I-75 near Findlay.
Authorities say the trooper, Josef Brobst, and Hathorn were standing behind the patrol cruiser when the struggle occurred.
It wasn’t immediately clear how the gun was fired or if Brobst had drawn the weapon or if it was still in his holster.
The trooper’s injuries aren’t considered life-threatening.
