Driver in deadly stroller accident had wrecked before

COLUMBUS (AP) — Records show the driver who hit a father pushing a stroller and killed a 7-month-old baby had been cited for a crash five days earlier.

Authorities say Kenan Ferebee, 23, was pushing his son, Micah, when a sport utility vehicle left the road and hit them Thursday. The baby died at a hospital.

The Somali woman who was driving the SUV has apologized and says she wishes she died instead. She hasn’t been charged.

She had been cited on May 29 after striking a median while attempting a U-turn on I-71. State motor vehicle records show she was alone despite having a temporary driving permit requiring that she drive with a licensed passenger. She says she wasn’t aware that she couldn’t drive alone.
