COLUMBUS – Police have identified the driver of the vehicle that struck and killed a woman on the Southeast Side early Monday morning.
Investigators say 65-year-old Clifford Flint’s vehicle has been impounded.
Amy Stewart was crossing Brice Road north of Tussing Road at about 5:43 a.m. when a silver van or SUV struck her and left the scene, driving southbound on Brice Road, said Det. Connie Brant of the Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit.
Brant says the driver stopped near the intersection of Brice and Tussing Roads and examined his vehicle before getting back in the vehicle and driving away.
Stewart, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene.
