COLUMBUS – There is no immediate word on exactly why a driver chose to drive backwards – that is, in reverse – up a freeway entrance ramp and into oncoming traffic in Canal Winchester Tuesday morning or what, if any, charges may be filed but the incident has made for a very entertaining video.

Ohio Department of Transportation officials speculate that the motorist must have experienced transmission troubles while driving westbound on U.S. 33 at about 6:45 a.m. so they decided to shift into reverse and try to find a place to pull over.
On the video (posted with a music soundtrack featuring music made popular in ”The Benny Hill Show”) shows the vehicle reversing back up the entrance ramp from Gender Road, then into southbound traffic, across the overpass and into the parking lot of the Winchester Square Shopping Center.
ODOT says no one was injured in the incident but admonishes the rest of us: “Please, don’t be that driver.”
