COLUMBUS – Drivers on the Northwest Side are getting some headache relief this weekend as part of the US 33/I-270 interchange reopens, making it easier to get into and out of Dublin.

Motorists able to drive over I-270 into Dublin with no detours, since the eastbound lanes of the over pass were reopened at 5:00 a.m. Friday, Ohio Department of Transportation spokeswoman Nancy Burton said.
By 9:00 Saturday morning, the westbound lanes will be completely open, as will the two loop ramps that have been closed since June connecting I-270 southbound to US 33 east and westbound US 33 to I-270 south. All lanes on I-270 southbound will be open along with two lanes on US 33 westbound towards Marysville.
The relief is only temporary. Burton says the project is only halfway complete so there will be more closures and restrictions next year but the will not last as long as this year.
Construction on the $71 million project started in March and is scheduled to be complete in 2017.
