COLUMBUS, Ohio – The road woes continued for Columbus Crew SC as they dropped a 2-0 decision to the San Jose Earthquakes Saturday.
Chris Wondolowski broke through for his 99th career regular-season MLS goal in the 55th minute against a depleted Crew SC side that played with 10 men for almost an hour after Mohammed Saeid’s first-half red card.
Shea Salinas added his first goal of 2015 shortly thereafter to extend San Jose’s unbeaten streak to four straight and move the Quakes (5-4-2) into sole possession of fourth place in the Western Conference.
Columbus (4-4-2) remained winless on the road this season.
Goalkeeper Steve Clark made six saves on the evening, tying his MLS regular-season best.
The Crew SC returns to the pitch on Friday when it hosts the Chicago Fire at MAPFRE Stadium in a nationally televised clash (8:00 p.m. ET / Univision Deportes Network, Time Warner Cable SportsChannel).
