COLUMBUS – Police named no suspects in the death of an 80-year-old man gunned down in his Hilltop home Monday morning.
Richard Cardwell’s girlfriend called police and medics after she returned home at 9:52 a.m. and discovered Caldwell bleeding inside the residence in the 900 block of Roys Avenue, Homicide Unit Sgt. Eric Pilya said.
Cardwell had sufferred multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced at the scene, Pilya said.
Pilya says investigators had no suspect information or motive early Tuesday.
This is the 59th homicide of 2017 in Columbus.
