GAHANNA – Mifflin Township police are on the lookout for a man they escaped from custody after assaulting an officer and is considered armed and dangerous.

Dewayne “Skeet” Sears was arrested Wednesday for carrying a loaded firearm while on probation and other charges, according to police spokeswoman Melissa Rapp.

After Sears, 25, was taken to the Mifflin Township Police Department for processing, he assaulted a police officer and escaped and Rapp says he could not be located after a search of the area by several local law enforcement agencies.

Rapp said Sears is known to frequent the area around Linden, Cleveland Avenue and State route 161 on the northeast Side.
