COLUMBUS, Ohio – An escaped Fayette County inmate is dead after crashing a stolen car while fleeing from police.
Sheriff’s deputies say David Payne slipped away from deputies yesterday in Washington Court House, broke into a house and stole a car before leading them on a high-speed chase.
The pursuit ended in Pickaway County, when Payne wrecked the car on State Route 104. He later died of his injuries.
