COLUMBUS – One person was killed and three others injured in a traffic accident that shut down an East Side interstate for several hours early Thursday.

Latosha Jordan, of Columbus, was killed when she was injured by an SUV on an exit ramp from I-70 westbound to I-270, according to Columbus Division of Pol9ice accident investigators.

A passenger in Jordan’s vehicle and the driver of the SUV were injured, as well as an onlooker who had come to the scene to help, Det. Christopher Bail of the Accident Investigation Unit said.

Jordan exited the vehicle after the crash and Ronald Sipp Jr. entered the freeway from a nearby apartment complex where he had witnessed the incident and attempted to assist Jordan and her passenger, Antonio Stubbs, 35, who stayed in the vehicle.

At that time, a Chevrolet Malibu, operated by Faith Sadler, 20, of Dublin, struck the SUV, resulting in Jordan and Sipp being thrown from the initial crash scene., Bailey said.

Jordan was pronounced dead at the scene, Bailey said.

Sipp, 49, was transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital with critical injuries.

Sadler was reported to be suffering from severe but non-life-threatening injuries at Mount Carmel East and Stubbs was taken to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center with severe but non-life-threatening injuries, Bailey said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Columbus Division of Police Accident Investigation Unit.

The westbound lanes of I-70 were shut down until just before 6:00 a.m. during the initial investigation.
