COLUMBUS – A 19-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of a baby on the West Side.

Columbus Homicide Unit detectives notified of the death of Janylan Bawlen, a 2-month-old girl, Tuesday morning at Doctors West Hospital spoke with the parents and hospital personnel, Homicide Unit Sgt. Eric Pilya said.
When an autopsy that the death was the result of a homicide, investigators again interviewed the parents and Pilya said Javion Bawlen admitted involvement in his daughter’s death.
Javio Bawlen was charged with involuntary manslaughter and is being held at the Franklin County Jail..
This is the 101st homicide in Columbus in 2019.
