COLUMBUS – Columbus police are hoping more witnesses come forward to explain what may have led to gunfire during a party at Weinland Park Saturday and who fired the gunshots that left four people – including two small girls – injured.

Officers responding to a shooting at the park on Summit Street at 9:43 p.m. Danautica Wilson, 5, suffering from a gunshot wound to her leg, said Det. Scott Polgar of the Assault Unit. The girl was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in stable condition.
While officers secured the crime scene they were told by the medical staff at The Wexner OSU Medical Center, who told them Elaya King, 10; Cavaris Mills, 29, and Kevant Smoot, 26, all arrived by car at the emergency room, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Although there were between 150 and 200 people attending the party, Polgar says only three people came forward to provide a witness statement.
