Field crasher pleads not guilty

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – The student who ran onto the field during an Ohio State football game and was body-slammed by a coach has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor criminal trespassing.

An attorney for Anthony Wunder entered the plea Tuesday in Franklin County Municipal Court.

Wunder wasn’t there. His attorney, Mark Collins, says he entered the plea to allow for thoroughly researching circumstances of the case.

Wunder, 21, was stopped and slammed to the ground by an assistant strength and conditioning coach Saturday during Ohio State’s home victory over Cincinnati. The coach, Anthony Schlegel, is a former Buckeyes linebacker.

The big hit has been a sensation on social media.

Coach Urban Meyer said Monday he had a somewhat serious conversation with Schlegel about the hit and that the team has had fun with it.
