COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus police say detectives have determined that an attack where a woman was set on fire on an East Side walking trail was not random.
The woman, whose name was not released, told police she was dragged into the bushes off the Blacklick Creek Greenway Trail near Shannon Road and Winchester Pike Wednesday afternoon, sexually assaulted and set on fire.
Police say the woman, who is in her 20s, was in stable condition at a hospital Wednesday night with burns on her torso that are not life-threatening.
Her attacker is being sought.
