Final score: 12 Buckeyes drafted

COLUMBUS – By the time the 2016 NFL draft ended Saturday, Ohio State had fallen a little short of matching its own league record of 14 players selected, but led all other programs in this year’s draft.

Linebacker Joshua Perry got things started early as the fourth pick of the fourth round by San Diego and the 102nd overall pick at the Auditorium Theater in downtown Chicago.

Quarterback Cardale Jones joined Perry as a fourth-round pick with Buffalo selecting him with the 139th overall pick.

Rounds 5 through 7 came and went without another Buckeye being selected and, while OSU’s 12 total picks missed its own NFL record of 14 from one school set in 2004, it was more than from any other program in this year’s draft and the 12 picks in first four rounds are the most since 1967.
