DUBLIN (AP) — Tony Finau is taking momentum from last week into the Memorial.
He spent last week away from the PGA Tour, but while home in Utah, Finau shot a 59 at Victory Ranch.
No one will ever confuse Victory Ranch with Muirfield Village.
Finau says the sub-60 round told him he was playing well.
He brought that game to the Memorial and shot 69 on Friday.
That put him in a share of the 36-hole lead with Ryan Palmer.
Tiger Woods finished strong for a 76 to make the cut on the number.
Woods missed a pair of 3-foot putts, took a double bogey from the fairway and was headed toward a weekend off at the course where he has won five times.
But his birdie-birdie-par finish gave him a 76.
Along with missing short putts, Woods says his back felt a little stiff while warming up. He says he’s bound to have days like this.

Talk about swinging for the fences.
Bryson DeChambeau, the biggest basher of a golf ball these days, hit one tee shot into a creek and two shots out-of-bounds.
It added to a 10 on the 15th hole in the Memorial. It was highest score on a hole in DeChambeau’s career, and it caused him to miss the cut.
DeChambeau asked for two rulings to play on his shots that landed near a temporary boundary fence. He lost the debate.
DeChambeau failed to break par in any round of a tournament for the first time in a year.
