COLUMBUS – Five people, ranging in age from 17 to 19, were shot while attending a “pajama” party in a rented house in Franklinton early Tuesday, police said.
A 17-year-old boy and girl, two 18-year-old men and a 19-year-old man were at the party in the area of Bellows Avenue and Hawkes Avenue several unknown suspects began firing weapons into the home, according to Det. Ian Pruitt of the Felony Assault Unit.
One of the people inside the home returned fire but there were no additional reports of injuries.

Teen killed in Christmas Day shooting
A 16-year-old died after being shot during a fight on a North Linden street on Christmas Day.
Deaire Craighead was in front of an address in the 700 block of Moon Road when an altercation broke out at approximately 3:00 p.m., Sgt. James Marable of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.
Shots were fired during the dispute and Marable says Craighead was wounded. He died later at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital.
It is not known what prompted the altercation or who was involved, Marable said.

Suspect sought in 2021 double shooting
Columbus police are looking for a 30-year-old man in connection with a double shooting in 2021 that left one man dead and another injured.
Arrest warrants have been filed charging Christian Houchins with murder and felonious assault in the May 31, 2021, incident, when 65-year-old Robert Jordan was killed and a 45-year-old man weas hurt when they were shot in a parking lot in the area of the 1200 block of Sigsbee Avenue, Marable said.
