PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Blue Jackets have been a pleasant surprise so far in their NHL Eastern Conference quarterfinals series with the Penguins, battling to win two games in overtime and send the best-of-seven series back to Pittsburgh tied up.
The Jackets tied the series at two games apiece with a 4-3 overtime win Wednesday night. The Penguins blew a three-goal lead in the loss, including giving up the tying goal after a miscue by goalie Marc-Andre Fleury in the final seconds of regulation.
Game 5 is Saturday night in Pittsburgh (7:00 p.m./Fox Sports Ohio) and Game 6 will be at Nationwide Arena Monday.
Penguins coach Dan Bylsma says his team’s “battle level” needs to rise and he needs more from stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin if Pittsburgh is going to advance.
The Blue Jackets have done an excellent job shutting down Crosby, who has yet to score a goal in the series after leading the NHL in points during the regular season.
