Gas prices continue to drop in most parts of the country (see graph), despite strong demand, due to abundant fuel supplies and declining crude oil costs.

Ohio’s average price of $2.06 a gallon is down 12 cents from a week ago and about 31 cents below the state average this time last month.

Monday’s national average price was $2.16, compared with $2.21 last week and $2.31 a month ago.

Nationwide, prices are the lowest since 2004, according to the AAA.

This time last year, the state average was $2.50 and the national average was $2.72.
