COLUMBUS, Ohio – Gas prices in Columbus fell for the second week in a row, though the average price statewide increased to start the work week.
Analysts have anticipated increased prices at the pump as gasoline costs catch up to higher oil prices.
A gallon of regular gas in central Ohio was averaging $2.46 in Monday’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That’s 6 cents cheaper than last Monday, but 10 cents higher than one month ago.

Ohio’s statewide average was $2.49, up a nickel from a week ago and 12 cents from a month ago. Prices ranged from $2.42 a gallon in Canton-Akron to $2.53 in Cincinnati.
Those prices remain significantly cheaper than last year at this time, when prices were averaging $3.72 per gallon across Ohio.
Ohio’s average was also below the national average Monday, which was about $2.66 per gallon. That’s up 4 cents from a week ago, but 99 cents cheaper than last year at this time.
