COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Gas prices in Ohio were down to start the work week.
The average price for a gallon of regular gas in Columbus was $1.86 in Monday’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That’s 18 cents cheaper than a week ago. The statewide average price of $ 1.89 was down 10 cents from a week ago and $1.39 per gallon less than a year ago.
The national average Monday was $2.03 per gallon. That’s three cents less than a week ago and about $1.26 cheaper than the average cost at this time last year.
Analysts say average national gas prices are likely to increase soon due to recent rising costs of crude oil.
Toledo saw the lowest prices among Ohio’s metropolitan areas, with a gallon of gas averaging about $1.80 Monday.
