COLUMBUS – Gas prices in Columbus went up for the sixth week in a row to about $2.33 per gallon Monday morning, 30 cents higher than on April 2.
The average price statewide climbed 12 cents since last week to $2.29.

The average price per gallon central Ohio was up 14 cents from the previous week, according to Monday’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. The average price in Ohio on Monday was 28 cents higher than what it was this time last month.
But the average remained below the $2.43 cents reported this time last year.
Auto club analysts say gasoline demand continues to surpass last year’s levels as more drivers take to the roads, so refiners are ramping up production, but crude oil prices hit new highs for the year last week.
The national average price in Monday’s survey was $2.22, compared with $2.06 a month ago. The national average price this time last year was $2.61.
