COLUMBUS – For the first time in nearly two years, motorists in central Ohio are enjoying gas prices below the $2 a gallon mark.
The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in the Columbus area Wednesday morning was $1.995, according to a daily survey from the auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX, Inc., 18 cents cheaper than last week and the lowest average since prices dipped to about $1.90 at the end of January 2017.
Prices in central Ohio ranged from a low of $1.93 in Fairfield County to $2.12 in Union County.
At $2.04 a gallon, Ohio was among 10 states with prices under $2.05.
The US average price the day after Christmas was $2.31.
