COLUMBUS, Ohio – Gas prices are up slightly to start the work week but remain below the national average.
The average price for a gallon of regular gas in Columbus was $3.52 in Monday’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That is 17 cents higher than last Monday, but a nickel lower than the national average.
Analysts say the price of crude oil was elevated on anxiety about the Middle East, though the likelihood of disruption in supplies was small.
The statewide average price of $3.49 was 2 cents more than a week ago — and 28 cents lower than a month ago..
Monday’s national average was $3.57, which is 4 cents lower than a week ago and 10 cents lower than the price last year at this time.
