COLUMBUS – Columbus police were checking with neighbors for surveillance footage in their investigation into the shooting of two young girls while they were inside a South Side home Monday night.
Officers responded to a shooting at 726 Reinhard Ave. Officers located two juvenile victims. Both victims were transported to Children’s Hospital (non-life threatening condition). Detectives are processing the scene. If anyone has information, please call CPD’s Assault Unit.

Detectives with the Felony Assault Unit say the girls, ages 8 and 11, were sitting on the couch in the living room of their home on Reinhard Avenue at approximately 11:35 p.m. when gunshots were fired from outside the house.
Several rounds entered the home and struck the girls in their arms, Det. Bob McCotter said.
The girls were taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital where they were listed in stable condition and were expected to survive, McCotter said.
