COLUMBUS, Ohio – People in Grandview Heights are on edge and police are vowing to be extra vigilant after a seven-year-old girl reported she was almost kidnapped.
The girl told investigators she was climbing a tree near her home in the 1100 block of Mulford Road at approximately 5:30 Monday afternoon when a man tried to lure her to a car driven by a woman, according to Grandview Heights police chief Thomas McCann.
McCann says the girl told authorities a silver sedan pulled up to the curb as she climbed down from the tree and a heavyset white man in his 40’s, described as having a hairy chest and wearing no shirt, reached out of the window and tried to take her by the hand.
The car was driven by woman police described as being white, in her 30’s, with long brown hair and wearing a white tank top.
