Grocery store strike averted

COLUMBUS – Kroger workers voted late Thursday to approve a new three-year contract, heading off a potential strike by thousands of employees of the grocery giant.

The union voted last month to authorize a strike after rejecting a previous contract offer, according to a report by WBNS 10-TV.

The Cincinnati-based company presented an updated contract last week that included raises of at least $2.65 per hour for many workers.
