Gunfire hits girl, 3, sleeping on couch

COLUMBUS (AP) — Columbus police say gunfire wounded a 3-year-old girl as she slept on a living room couch and four people struck while they were at a vigil for a homicide victim.

Police say the child had a minor leg injury after someone fired three gunshots through the front door shortly after 3:00 a.m. Saturday, striking the girl in the leg. She is expected to recover.

Police say someone opened fire shortly after 8:30 p.m. Friday at a Weinland Park vigil striking four people, including an 18-year-old woman, a 20-year-old woman, and a 25-year-old man.

Police said none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.
