OLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Max Pacioretty scored two power-play goals, and P.K. Subban added another — all in a span of 3:53 of the third period — to lead the Montreal Canadiens to a 3-2 comeback victory over the Blue Jackets on Wednesday night.
Carey Price made 14 saves, and Andrei Markov had two assists for the Canadiens, who have earned points in eight of nine games and 11 of 13.
Ryan Johansen scored a third-period, power-play goal to extend his career-best point streak to 11 games. Kevin Connauton also had a goal for Columbus on its first shot of the game. Sergei Bobrovsky made 28 saves and lost his shutout bid with 8½ minutes remaining.
The Jackets return to action on Friday (7:00 p.m.) when they host the New York Rangers at Nationwide Arena.
The CBJ’s Nick Foligno and Jonathan Toews of the Chicago Blackhawks have been named team Captains for the 2015 NHL All-Star weekend Jan. 23-24 at Nationwide Arena, the NHL announced. The league said Wednesday that the all-star teams will now be designated as Team Foligno and Team Toews.
In addition, Drew Doughty of the Los Angeles Kings and Patrick Kane of the Blackhawks have been named assistant captains of Team Foligno, while Ryan Getzlaf of the Anaheim Ducks and Rick Nash of the New York Rangers will assist Toews.
The captains and assistants were selected by NHL Hockey Operations in consultation with players selected for the game.
