COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus City Council has turned to a South Side native with eight years’ experience in government service to fill a vacant seat.

Shannon Hardin was selected from a field of nearly 30 applicants to take over the seat vacated by A. Troy Miller, council president Andrew Ginther announced Monday.

Prior to that, he served in the office of Mayor Michael Coleman as external affairs manager and community affairs coordinator.
