COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back in Columbus to help re-dedicate a statue made in his likeness.
The movie star and champion bodybuilder is slated to appear Monday with Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a fellow Republican facing re-election in November.
The event comes a day before early voting is scheduled to start in the state.
All boards of elections and the Secretary of State’s office will be open until 9:00 p.m. to accept voter registration and update forms and to answer questions. Voters can update their addresses online.
Construction workers wrapped up and moved the 8-foot, 600-pound bronze statue earlier this month in preparation for the demolition of Veterans Memorial Auditorium.
The statue was unveiled in 2012 to commemorate Schwarzenegger’s commitment to Columbus, where the Arnold Sports Festival is held each year.
It has been relocated to the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
