COLUMBUS – A few weeks after Clintonville was named a hipster haven, another website says Hilliard is a mecca for millennials.
The real estate website Realtor.com has listed Hilliard’s 43026 ZIP code as No. 10 on its third annual list of the hottest ZIP codes in the U.S.
The website describes the suburb in western Franklin County as a “blend of small-town historical charm, museums and local eateries.”
Homes in Hilliard sell in 25 days with a median list price that is almost 25 percent higher than last year.
The website says its latest list “illustrates the power of millennial gravitation toward affordable suburbs” and Hilliard fits the bill with millennials holding 41 percent of new mortgages and a 59 percent home ownership rate.
Dayton and Cincinnati were also in the website’s list of the top 50 ZIP codes.
Watauga, Texas, a suburb of Fort Worth, was No. 1.
