COLUMBUS – The Columbus Crew announced on Wednesday that Historic Crew Stadium will open at full capacity for the Crew’s final match at the first soccer-specific stadium in Major League Soccer.

Columbus will host MLS Eastern Conference rival Chicago Fire FC on Saturday, June 19, with Bally Sports Ohio hosting a special one-hour pre-game show to commemorate the occasion.

It will be the first full-capacity match at the stadium on the Northeast Side since March 1, 2020.

While there will be no official facial covering or social distancing requirements, team officials say fans can still wear masks if they feel more comfortable doing so.

Tailgating will be allowed in the general parking lot but the stadium will remain a cashless facility for the match.

Historic Crew Stadium opened its doors in 1999. The Crew is scheduled to begin playing in its new Arena District facility in July.
