COLUMBUS – Despite a large number of homeowners coming off the sidelines and listing their homes for sale in central Ohio in January, sales were weaker than the year before, according to data released Thursday by Columbus Realtors.
The number of homes and condos added to the market was up almost 55 percent from December and was 13.1 percent higher than January 2018, sales were down two percent from a year ago and plummeted almost 22 percent from December.
Lower-than-normal inventory continues to put upward pressure on prices, with the median sale price increasing 5.2 percent to $181,500.
