COLUMBUS – Police are investigating the 28th murder of the year in Columbus, which is on pace to challenge the record-setting number of homicides recorded in 2017.
UPDATE 4/25/19 8:27 a.m.: Police arrested Marcachew Sisay, 34, for murder in connection with this case.
HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION:
4/14/19 CPD received a 911 call indicating a male was shot near S. Hamilton Rd. & E. Livingston Ave.

Officers responding to a reported shooting in the area of S. Hamilton Road and Livingston Avenue Sunday found Adane Kinde, 34, in the parking lot of a strip mall north of Livingston Avenue suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, said Det. Jennifer Gribi of the Homicide Unit.
Kinde was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation continues.
With 28 homicides reported so far in 2019, the city could record nearly 100 for the year, nearing the record 118 murders in 2017.
